Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the NikahRoots progressive web app ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). This agreement constitutes a legally binding contract between you and NikahRoots ("we," "us"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Service.

2. Eligibility

To register for and use NikahRoots, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be at least 21 years of age.
  • You must be legally single (unmarried, divorced, or widowed).
  • You must be a practicing Muslim seeking a matrimonial alliance in good faith.
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.

3. User Accounts and Registration

You are required to register for an account using a valid phone number or email for OTP verification. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate.

All new profiles are subject to manual verification and approval by our admin team to maintain the integrity of our community. We reserve the right to reject or suspend any account that we believe, in our sole discretion, contains false information or is created with malicious intent.

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Service Plans and Features

NikahRoots offers both free and paid services:

  • Free Membership: Allows you to create a profile, view other member profiles, and see your profile completeness score.
  • Paid Membership/Features: To interact with other members, you must purchase a plan or feature. These include:
    • Chat Access: A subscription plan (e.g., ₹99 for 3 months) is required to send and receive messages.
    • Profile Boosts: A one-time payment (e.g., ₹249) to increase the visibility of your profile.
    • Verification Badges: A one-time payment (e.g., ₹199) for a badge after successful manual verification, enhancing your profile's trust.

5. Payments and Refunds

All payments for subscriptions and features are processed through our third-party payment gateway, Razorpay. By making a payment, you agree to the terms of the payment gateway.

All purchases are final and non-refundable. There are no refunds or credits for partially used periods. We may, in our sole discretion, issue a refund or credit on a case-by-case basis.

6. User Conduct and Responsibilities

You agree to use NikahRoots in a manner consistent with its purpose as a matrimonial platform and in compliance with all applicable laws. You agree not to:

  • Post any content that is false, misleading, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose, such as advertising or solicitation.
  • Spam, harass, or threaten any other user.
  • Request money from or defraud any other user.
  • Impersonate any person or entity.
  • Use any robot, spider, or other automated means to access the Service.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for abusive behavior. Users can report profiles for spam, abuse, or fraudulent activity. Violating these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without a refund.

7. Referral Program

Our referral program allows you to earn credits by inviting new users. The referring user receives a credit (e.g., ₹25), and the new user receives a discount (e.g., ₹20) upon successful registration.

Referral credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and can only be redeemed for specific services on NikahRoots (e.g., boosts or chat access). We reserve the right to change the terms of the referral program or terminate it at any time. Any fraudulent activity in the referral program will result in the forfeiture of credits and potential account termination.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. NikahRoots does not guarantee a matrimonial match. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, either online or offline. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users.

We do not conduct criminal background checks on our users but rely on a manual verification process and community reporting. To the fullest extent permitted by law, NikahRoots disclaims any liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may, in our sole discretion, suspend, deactivate, or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including for violating these Terms. Upon termination, all licenses and rights granted to you in these Terms will immediately cease.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Kochi, Kerala, India.
